My name is Chico and I was given up along with another little dog because my family was going through a rough time. I know what it’s like to be loved and be part of a family and I’m hoping that it won’t be too long until I find another guardian who will love me for the rest of my days. I’m 9 years old – but a very young nine! One of the advantages of being a little white dog is that there is no frosting around the muzzle. I know, I know.... puppies are a barrel of laughs and cute as the dickens. But, remember the wise old saying, "Age before beauty." Just because an adult dog is no longer young doesn't mean he doesn't have a world of things to offer you. Folks sometimes have the mistaken notion that if you don't raise a dog from scratch, you'll only have trouble. Nothing could be further from the truth. There are definite advantages to the older dog. For one thing, I’ll be more than happy to let you finish your second cup of coffee in the morning before you have to take me for a walk. Keeping up with a puppy can be exhausting -- and you can't turn him off or send him to his room to play if you've had a hard day. Far more so than with a puppy, an adult dog is a "what you see is what you get" proposition. One last thought about the "second-hand" dog. A dog of any age can be trained and will adapt to -- and be a loving, loyal companion for -- a new family. You really can teach old dog new tricks! So, take a second look at me, we just might be meant for each other. Please fill in the adoption form if you would like to adopt me. Remember, the name is CHICO
