Bentley tested positive for FIV. Humans can not catch FIV. FIV kitties can live long and healthy lives. It is NOT contagious by touching the cat, using the same litter box, or sharing the same food dishes. The virus can spread ONLY through deep bite wounds and blood transfusions. FIV kitties are often overlooked by adopters out of fear. They are just like any normal cat that will thrive in a home environment. FIV kitties don’t need any special treatment or medication. Many people have successfully introduced FIV positive and FIV negative kitties into their home with no impact on either cat’s heath.
