My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a loving, gentle, all around good-natured furry companion? Then look no further! Hachi is a medium-sized husky mix weighing about 30 pounds, born in September of 2011. He is very excited to find his forever home and knows his very best years are ahead of him! Hachi had a bit of a rough start to life as a stray, but is thrilled that New Hope gave him the opportunity to become well-fed and pain-free. He has undergone physiotherapy sessions because of a smaller muscle circumference on his hind right leg, due to being shot. But don't worry, now Hachi gets around just fine and in fact, would really like a guardian he can go for daily walks with and who will help him stay limber with some at-home physio exercises a few days a week until his condition improves further (though you can barely notice any limp at all!). And who would not want to be seen out and about with this handsome fella?! He loves to give motivation for exercising- this typically quiet dog will show you his appreciation when you prepare for an outing (or simply return home!) with some entertaining little talking noises and dancing n prancing! Since joining New Hope, Hachi has come out of his shell, learning to trust—and love—humans. He knows what being a part of a family is now and is ready to melt your heart with some cuddles and good manners. Hachi is house-broken, crate-trained, and knows all the basic commands, including shake a paw (treats are appreciated!) and will sit and wait for his supper when asked. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing with his fellow canine housemates. Aside from playtime and interacting with his humans, this easy-going guy is content to lounge around, sprawl upside down on his bed, or chew a tasty bone. Hachi has not been around young children, but would likely do well with them due to his friendly, patient demeanour. Think you have a place in your heart and home for this charmer? Apply to meet Hachi today!
