This handsome boy has quite a story. Apollo was at a pound in Bakersfield and was at risk of being killed, just as many black dogs are, sadly. He was placed on the "kill list" time and time again. Each time, the shelter staff managed to prevent his death because they adored him so much. So much that he was spared from "euthanasia" FIFTEEN times! On the eve of his certain death, a rescuer received a plea email about Apollo and pledged to save his life. Apollo was saved the very next day. Phew!
Apollo is a very loving, social, 70-lb Lab/Pittie mix who is almost three years old. Although he's quite large, he thinks he's a lap dog. That's how much he loves people. He enjoys being near humans and really likes to cuddle. He has been neutered and vaccinated, and is housebroken. He has lived in a foster home with children and is wonderful with them...and all sized humans, actually. He's great with most other dogs, but it is unknown if he is OK with cats.
Gorgeous, lovable Apollo is losing his foster home due to a move. We are desperately in need of a new foster home for him. Better yet, will you provide him his forever home? Please help Apollo. Contact Joey at (646) 522-6555 or fixyourpet@gmail.com for more information. Thanks!
