Emmett's Story...
Meet Emmett! This sweet little 10 pound Lhasa/Maltese is 18! He lost his home through no fault of his own and some SDH&H friends took him so he could avoid the trauma of being put in a shelter. Emmett gets along well with other dogs and cats. He is potty trained and even still can go on short walks. Would you happen to have a place for Emmett to rest his weary bones? He could use a little spoiling in his twilight years--he is long overdue! If you are interested in giving Emmett his forever home, contact info@seniordoghaven.org and we'll put you in touch with his rescuers

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emmett, a Wilmington Lhasa Apso/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lhasa Apso/Maltese for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Lhasa Apso/Maltese dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lhasa Apso/Maltese breeders who help with Lhasa Apso/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
