A very unique and awesome dog! Although independent, Atka has begun seeking human attention more and more while in foster care. He now loves to play and talk and be petted. You can see his joy when engaged in his favorite game of "play bow/wiggle butt/chase" with the humans in his foster home. His foster mom describes him as an easy dog: doesn't dig, doesn't bark, gentle in taking treats, rides well in the car, and doesn't jump on people. Atka is fully house trained, isn't destructive, and will talk when he feels the need.

Atka has been in K9 Nose Work training for a few months now and is progressing well. He'd like to continue this type of training if possible in his adoptive home (though not at all required). Atka pulls hard on leash and will need continued training on walking easily. He's always excited to get somewhere and just can't wait for the humans.

Atka has learned alot more about dog signals while in foster care and is able to be loose in the home with the other dogs without issue now. He still needs some supervision while playing, and should be supervised when interacting with new dogs, but he has come a long way during his time in foster care.
Atka is cat friendly!

He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and parasite free and on prevention.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Atka, a Clay Siberian Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Siberian Husky for sale in Clay, or seeking a Siberian Husky dog from a breeder in Clay.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Clay already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Clay breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Siberian Husky breeders who help with Siberian Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Clay paves the way for another one to be saved.
