Hugo's Story...
May 15th Hugo was taking a leisurely stroll across Route 82 between Geneseo and Cambridge. The car came fast and poor Hugo didn't know what hit him. A passerby watched in horror as Hugo was hit. She contacted HCAC and Hugo was rushed to Miller Vet in Atkinson. He had a broken lower jaw but thankfully no other injuries. They contacted us and we authorized funds from the Dutch Memorial Fund to cover his vet bills and promised to find him a good home. May 20th Hugo went to a foster home to recover. He was scared and in pain at first but after a few days he was playing and asking for attention. In another week or so the wires will be removed. If his break has healed then he will be ready for his furever home where his leisurely strolls will be inside. Hugo has been neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, microchipped and has had all of his vaccinations. If you would like to meet Hugo give us a call at 944-4868 to make arrangements. DOB 5-15-12

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hugo, a Geneseo Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Geneseo, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Geneseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Geneseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Geneseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Geneseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
