Alfie's Story...
Alfie is a curly coated Dachshund Mix who we estimate is about 5 years old and weighs 14.0 lbs. He tested negative for heartworm, yay! He is an intact male and came to us as a stray with his brother Larry. Both have a super curly coats and long fur on the tail. They are in good health and appear to have been well cared for in the past. These guys are super friendly with people and other dogs too but perhaps a little skittish with the bigger ones. Alfie and his brother would fit right in with a small family or even an older couple. Ask about our 55/5 program. Alfie will need to be neutered before going home with you. Come by the shelter to meet these great little guys.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alfie, a San Andreas Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in San Andreas, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in San Andreas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Andreas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Andreas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Andreas paves the way for another one to be saved.
