My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When I came into rescue I had no name, the volunteers at CAA Rescue dubbed me Trooper because of everything I went through to get to this point and time. See my history is really unknown but the vet, pound and rescues have tried to piece together my story. In May I was found tied to a tree in the woods in St Jean sur Richelieu the police and local shelter came to save me. It seems, to the vet that attended to me that I was in a dog fight or possibly a bait dog due to my sever and very infected injuries … my story made the news. The wounds were badly infected and they treated me. The more and more time they spent with me they came to realise my gentle and sweet nature and could not imagine that someone so close to home would take advantage of my gentle temperament.

After a month long stay in a cage where I was treated and evaluated CAA Rescue was contacted and asked to help me find my forever home. I was so happy when I heard the news that they said yes even though I very sad to leave the kind people at the shelter who had cared for me, on my rescue day I made sure to give them all kisses goodbye.

I was pretty happy that CAA helped me because I get to live in a foster home until my true forever family finds me. I am a sweet and gentle boy who loves my humans. I am very smart and pretty darn vocal when I want something … I don’t bark but I do talk!! My foster daddy laughs at me every day and says I am the funniest dog he ever met.

I am completely house trained and great on the leash. I love to meet new people and dogs on my walks. I am a super friendly guy. I prefer a home with no cats. In foster care I am living with my foster buddy Rex and while I really love cuddling with him and napping special accommodations had to be made for my feeding schedule. I am very protective of my food and toys when it comes to other doggies but not towards humans, so it might be best to have me in a home with no other doggies but have play time with my friends in the neighborhood.

Because my history is truly unknown and everyone can only speculate what happened to me they have asked for a home with no children under the age of 14 – I love every person I meet but I think the CAA Rescue volunteers just want to be sure that I am forever safe and happy in my new home.

I have a perfect level of energy – you want to go for a walk AWESOME I love to go for walks… you want to sleep in on Saturday morning well that is great news because I am really not a morning dog. Really I just want a family of my own to love and protect me for always.

I am a typical boxer so you will need extra paper towel to wipe up my drool every now and again.
If you believe in positive reinforcement training and have a love of the boxer please write to caarescue@gmail.com and ask about me… I traveled down a really long and scary road to meet my true forever family and I cannot wait another moment to meet you!!
