Fern's Story...
FERN: Here is her foster mother's report on this 3-year-old diminutive (about 5-6 lbs.) surrender: "At first we thought that Fern fancied herself a princess, but we've changed our minds, as she is well on her way to being the Queen of Everything. She doesn't merely follow us around the house when we are doing something, she struts her stuff and flaunts herself as she supervises us. When I enter a room where she is, I am clearly ordered to sit down so she can climb up on my lap to be petted (and, of course, I comply). She is wonderful to watch when she plays with toys. In short, this girl has loads and loads of personality; the only amazing thing is how she fits it all into such a small body." As befits a queen, Fern picks and chooses what other animals she'll get along with, but no young kids for this small girl. WAG only accepts applications from New Hampshire residents and from residents of communities in Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts that are on the New Hampshire border.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fern, a Weare Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Weare, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Weare.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Weare already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Weare breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Weare paves the way for another one to be saved.
