Here's what the humans have to say about me:
SAY HELLO TO "SCRAPPY" who was adopted as a puppy and has been with the same family all his life. Sadly, the family became to busy and found they just didn't have enough time to spend with Scrappy. Out of their love for him, Scrappy has now come to us looking for a new home. Thank you, Bill!
Did you notice his black, Harley Davidson, spiked leather collar? What a tough guy! Yet Scrappy is just chuck full of personality plus! He has that charismatic disposition that loves life! He is always looking to see what everyone is doing and why they are doing it.
This is one extremely friendly and outgoing Poodle who enjoys everyone he meets. Scrappy is more like a "SPARKY" or a "Nosey" or a "Curious George" Poodle. HEY! I LIKE SPARKY!!! Did you ever see the movie "Michael" with John Travolta?
While Scrappy has been a life time buddy to a German Shepherd and is good with all of our Poodles, it would be fine that he is with an older dog or as an only dog.
At 10" tall and a strong and sturdy 9 1/2 pounds, Sparky is a "Toy Poodle". He was born January 1, 2006, which is very hard to believe as this boy is more active, alert and sociable than any of our Poodles!
Scrappy has also been a perfect gentleman in our home and in his kennel. He LOVES food and treats, so watch your fingers! He will even help wash your dirty dishes as you put them into the dishwasher.
This is what I a consider to be a "delightful" Poodle. He also really loves to sit in my lap and is the first Poodle to cuddle up to me when I read or watch some television. What a "Velcro" Poodle this boy is!
Scrappy has an allergy issue (??) where he licks his front paws. Tests such as skin scrapings, bacteria testing, mite checking, broken bones, fungus testing and blood work have all been done to determine what is causing it.
We have also tried various sprays, ointments, salves, dips, lotions and shampoo's with no luck. All tests have come back negative and we still do not know what is causing his impulsive paw licking behavior.
While food can sometimes be the main cause to allergies, it will take time and patience for the right quality food solution (grain and poultry free) to be found. In the mean time, we have now placed Scrappy on a low dose and mild sedative to help calm and avert his attention.
We also are keeping him busy with walks, activities, attention, "bully sticks" and Virbec CET's to chew on. At various times, he also wears a cone, but that is very embarrassing for him. We have a seen a huge improvement with this issue, but more time and patience will be needed.
Scrappy's $250.00 adoption fee includes his extensive Vet testing, teeth cleaned, micro-chipped and Home Again registered. All his shots are all up to date, he has been heart-worm and Lyme's tested negative, placed on a preventative and wormed. Also included is his wire kennel, blanket, new bed, leash, collar, toys, blankets, winter coat and lot a good information to help your adoption start off on the right paw forward.
