Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Penny is a shy one year old German Shorthaired Pointer/Shepherd mix. She was surrendered to Friendship because one of the boys in the family was allergic to her. Penny can climb fences and likes to visit the neighbors. She also enjoys rawhides and bones. Penny is timid around people at first but warms up quickly. She loves kids and having her belly rubbed. She does not like having her nails being cut. She's a sweet girl that will even be better once she returns from her training.
On June 28, 2014, Penny was selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. She is currently undergoing training at the Grafton Correctional Institution. Penny is being trained in obedience, basic commands, manners and proper leash walking. She will spend approximately 12 weeks at the prison.
If you are interested in adopting a prison dog, adoption applications are now being accepted. They can be downloaded at friendshipapl.org under ADOPT-FIND A FRIEND. A limited amount of apps will be accepted for each Prison Dog. They must be hand delivered to Friendship. If you have any questions, please contact the shelter at 440-322-4321.
PLEASE: If you put in an adoption application on a prison dog and find another dog before they return, please inform Friendship.
