Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kerfuffle is a blue Somali who was purchased from a breeder as a kitten. But he did not integrate well with his new family which included another cat and a dog. He gets along with his sister Kali, but should be separated from her because their bond substitutes for the bond he should have with his human companion. Somalis truly enjoy human companionship, but something about Kerfuffle has derailed that.
Although he is currently a nervous young man who actually shivers with stress, he calms a bit with touching and stroking, but it takes a bit to pull him from his comfy spot or hidey hole. He can also meow a lot, sometimes nonstop when he feels very insecure. The meowing is a good sign, though; it shows that in his own way, he is reaching out to a human.
Kerfuffle needs an experienced cat owner. He would do well in a quiet, mature home where he would be the only cat, or perhaps another cat that could show him how to enjoy being with human company.
Although he is pedigreed and has papers, we did not want the papers from the surrendering family. We want him to be selected for who he is and what he can become in a new household.
