Gracie's Story...
My name is Gracie and my person whom I have lived all my 11 years with has dementia and went to live in nursing home. Nobody in the family wanted me because I was old, smelled pretty bad, had long in-grown toe nails, blind in one eye and have lots of bald areas on my body. Thank goodness someone saw I have some years left in me and took me in, had me groomed and vetted. I'm still blind in my right eye, I have a slight heart murmur but I'm not in heart failure, I now take medication for low thyroid which will hopefully help my hair grow back. I'm not a spring chick but I still enjoy car rides, going to the park and cuddling with my foster mom. If my bio doesn't scare you off and you'd love to give me a forever home please email CARE for an application. Again my name is Gracie and tell the nice people at CARE that you're interested in me and not one of the adorable puppies they have.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gracie, a Albany Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in Albany, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Albany.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Albany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Albany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Albany paves the way for another one to be saved.
