Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cooper: 2 years old, neutered, male chocolate Lab, 90 lbs
Cooper is a handsome, strong guy with the energy one would expect in an almost 2 yr old. He is a large, solid dog with no puppy fat left! Luckily, he is a sweet boy and a cuddle bug. He is being reluctantly surrendered by a loving owner whose living situation has changed. She works full time, lives in a small apartment and knows this is not the optimal environment for Cooper. Cooper is an energetic dog but friendly to dogs and people. He loves to chase the ball which is a good way to drain some of that energy. Once he has had exercise, he is settled in the house. He will sit for treats and takes them enthusiastically but well with some instruction. Cooper loves to swim--he is a Lab! A nice bonus--he is fine with dog-friendly cats. Cooper is crate trained, although with his size and energy shouldn't be spending too much time in a crate. When he is outside of the crate indoors, he is not destructive. He knows the basic commands but would benefit from additional training--when he is excited or meeting new people he may jump up. Lab Rescue is looking for a home for Cooper where he'll get the attention and exercise that will make him happy and well-adjusted. At his age and energy level, Lab Rescue is looking for a home for him where someone is home most of the day. He is good with kids although with his size and age, a home with very small children is probably not the best fit. Cooper used to live with another dog so would be happy with a canine brother or sister although that is not a must have. Cooper is located in San Francisco.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
