Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATE 10/27/14: WARNING!! PERFECT DOG ALERT!!! With every passing day I am more taken with this boy. Hooch is self-entertaining. He will play with his toys, throw and catch them. He has not torn up ONE toy he has been given, but chews softly on them. I can put my hands on the toy and even on his muzzle and he has no reaction whatsoever. I can take the toy from him -- no reaction. I can pick up his bowl while he is eating if necessary with no reaction. He THRIVES on attention and love. He rolls over for belly rubs, with his tail wagging furiously the entire time. He has several blankets that he loves to cuddle in -- and has not chewed or torn any one of them! Hooch played with children from toddlers to pre-teens in the neighborhood where he was found and never had one problem. Hooch LOVES to get in the car and GO. He sits and looks out the window -- no pacing, trying to get in your lap, etc. He walks on his leash and harness like a champ. He has never ONCE had a mistake in his room either. Hooch ADORES other dogs and has been taken to a dog park several times. I cannot believe this wonderful friend was abandoned!
Hooch will start his heartworm treatment mid-November. He can be adopted now, but his new guardian would have to keep him very quiet. Although, Hooch is about the most laid back dog I've seen!
UPDATE 10/9/14: HOOCH HAS FOUND A FOSTER HOME! Mine. I am completely taken with this dog. After living on the streets for years, I am amazed at how sweet he is. He has liked every dog he's met and I have learned that when he was living in a neighborhood, he played beautifully with all the children on the block.
Hooch is a horsecoat Shar Pei mix. He s about 55 pounds, current on vaccinations and will be neutered within a couple of weeks. Although Hooch IS HEARTWORM POSITIVE, the "neighborhood" where he lived has generously donated the funds for his heartworm treatment.
This boy is LAID BACK!!! Great temperament, just an amazingly good and sweet dog. Hooch needs to be a real part of a family. He's already been abandoned at least once, so he will need a lot of TLC, compassion, patience and a good structure.
