Hazel's Story...
My name is Hazel and I came all the way from a rural shelter in East Tennessee. I am a 7 year old Golden Retriever mix. The good news is I am one happy, wiggly, loving girl who just wants to be loved and petted. I love other dogs and I am very calm. I am on the petite side, just 45 pounds. The bad news is I had heartworms but was treated recently and I feel much better. Once I get my heartworm treatment and recoup in my foster home, I will be ready for adoption. This very nice man gave AGK $500 to help pay for my very expensive heart worm treatment! YAY. So if you are looking for the sweetest golden girl, ask for me - Hazel!

If interested in Hazel, please visit our website http://www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org/new_england.html. If all that looks good, please move forward and fill out an application.

NOTE: Adopt A Golden Knoxville rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in your area. These dogs are fostered in private homes in East Tennessee. Therefore, it is not possible to meet the dogs and pups prior to their adoption. They are brought up north on a USDA transport

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hazel, a Knoxville Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
