Wonder's Story...
Wonder is an incredibly human-affectionate yellow male kitty who was rescued from a high kill shelter just in time before he and six others were scheduled to be euthanized. He was apparently scared while he was at the shelter, but as soon as he arrived at 4Paws he has been the friendliest and most lovable guy you will ever meet. He is clearly VERY thankful that 4Paws saved his life.

Wonder LOVES human affection. Once you start petting him, he doesn't want you to stop. He will follow his humans around, sit on their laps, snuggle up with them, let them hold and carry him, and he gives just as much affection back to his humans as they give to him. He is so incredibly sweet and loving.

Wonder also does superbly well with other cats. He currently shares a foster home with Ocean (one of the other kitties with whom he was rescued) and they snuggle up together for naptime. Wonder is very laid back around other cats and is very easy for them to get along with. He is not quite as playful as Ocean, because he is more interested in attention from the humans than in toys or kitty-chase.

Wonder has a rare and beautiful coat of yellow fur that is more solid than it is tabby. He is soft to pet and has great manners and litter box skills. Wonder is neutered, tested negative for FIV & feline leukemia, current on vaccines, and healthy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wonder, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
