Paisley - Lynn's Story...
Paisley is a 4 year old Chihuahua. She weighs 6 lbs and that means she’ll make the perfect pint sized companion! She likes, children, adults, and other dogs. She has been on Therapy visits with her foster mom’s dogs and loves to make people happy. Paisley loves riding in the car, playing with other dogs and going on adventures. She spent many hours in a crate with her original family who did not have time for her, so she is fine in a crate if needed (she sleeps in one at night and feels safe). Paisley loves sitting on your lap, but she would do best in an active home and will not be a good choice for an elderly person. She would love a playmate in her new home. Her medical is up to date and she is a very healthy Chihuahua.

****Her adoption fee is $275.****

The Animal Rescue Project ( is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.

All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws.

Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $25 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.

The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Paisley - Lynn, a Kalamazoo Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Kalamazoo, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Kalamazoo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kalamazoo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kalamazoo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kalamazoo paves the way for another one to be saved.
