My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MAZIE is a 9 year old spayed yellow female. She's a very sweet and affectionate girl. She loves to be with her family. Mazie has always lived in the country on 7 acres so she would not enjoy living in a apartment or a condo. She is house trained but didn't spend a lot of time in the house in her previous home. Mazie was crate trained when she was younger but she doesn't need one anymore. She loves other dogs ~ she thinks everyone is her friend. Mazie will chase cats so she should go to a home with no cats. She loves to swim and enjoys playing in the yard. Mazie is excellent with kids! She weighs 69 ponds and is approved for kids of all ages as she used to live with seven kids from infant on up.

Update (6/30): What a luv bug! Mazie arrived and settled in quickly. She bonds very quickly with her people and had no problems at all with the resident dogs. She makes the best noises when she's trying to tell you that something feels good and hasn't made a peep otherwise. She's curled up right now by my feet sleeping comfortably.

We did a couple of walks today to help her burn off the 'omg, I've left the kennel' joyousness. She does great on a leash using just a martingale collar. It was funny watching her shift positions with my boys. "I want to be in the middle...I want to be on the left...I want to be on the right...wow it's hot...I want to hang out by the person".

Her evaluator said: "Mazie is a very sweet girl! She was good meeting my 11 year old lab. She barked at first and then followed her around. She didn't mind that my Lab drank some water out of her water bowl. Mazie has the typical Lab lean. She leaned against me and raised her head so I could rub her chin. She is great with kids- she follows them and is their constant companion."
