My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet SAFE Class XIX! After only two weeks of training, these dogs give every indication that this will be an excellent group. Upon completing the two month program, in which the dogs live with their trainers at WKCC (Western KY Correctional Complex), the dogs will be housetrained, crate trained, able to walk on a loose leash, able to respond to basic obedience commands, and able to perform some tricks. They will also be spayed/neutered, on flea, tick, and heartworm preventative, as well as being up to date on all shots. You may request an application by going to safehavenky@gmail.com. Graduation day is August 15 and we will accept applications until August 7. The adoption fee is $150.00 payable on graduation day.

Sandy has made amazing strides since entering the SAFE Program. She had known nothing but a kennel since her birth and was extremely shy. She now plays enthusiastically with the other dogs, and is especially fond of Godfrey. They have to bid each other good night every evening.She is an excellent tracker and is very scent oriented. She loves her toys and she can be motivated to do almost anything by the promise of play. Sandy loves the outdoors, but is very calm indoors. She has excellent recall and will come immediately when called. Those qualities would make her an ideal farm/house dog.
