Thelma's Story...
Meet Thelma! Thelma was a volunteer favorite at the Harbor Animal Shelter in San Pedro and waited for adoption/rescue for over two long months - an eternity to be trapped behind bars! Thelma is a delightful and elegant young lady. Although she is considered a "senior" by many, she begs to differ. Thelma is full of life and love to give and will shower you with gentle kisses. She loves other dogs who size - she would do best in a home without small dogs and/or cats. Thelma has a spring in her step and always wears a smile.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thelma, a Los Angeles Whippet dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Whippet for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Whippet dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Whippet breeders who help with Whippet rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
