Leo's Story...

Only four pups remain. Please help Clover, Leo, The and Pixie find a family!!!

Hi There!

I’m Dylan. I’m one of a litter of eight puppies, all around three months old. I guess since I have already found a wonderful forever home, I was asked to tell you about my brothers and sisters who are still searching. The man who owned my mother was very sick and couldn’t take care of all of us. Luckily my foster mom came along and brought us to her house. She cleaned us up, got us wormed and shots and now we are happy and healthy. Our mom was spayed so she doesn’t have to worry about having any more babies, and she can just enjoy life. We have all been spayed and neutered and are ready for our forever homes as well! All we are waiting on is you.
Our foster mom says that our mom was a medium sized lab mix, and she isn’t sure who our daddy(s) were, but that we are an adorable mix of colors and personalities. So the only question is which one of us (or two) will steal your heart?

Clover is a laid back little girl with soulful brown eyes. She is a little on the shy side, but is the kind of dog that will bond to her “people” and be loyal until the end of time. She looks like she is lab and maybe border collie or beagle.

Leo and Theo are two peas in a pod. They look like they have some Border Collie in them and are smart and sweet with precious personalities. Leo is a big mushy baby but smart, he will cry to let you know he needs to get out of his pet carrier so he can have a potty break. Theo when you wave your hand to him, he lifts his paw as does Leo too so I think they can easily be taught how to shake. Both sleep in a pet carrier. Do not have to be adopted together.

Ruby and Rudy are gorgeous, and you can see the intelligence in their eyes. They look the most like their mom and have her gentle personality.

Pixie and Dixie are the littlest pups. Pixie acts more grown up but Little Dixie would love to be held and carried around all of the time. Both girls love to play!

I am so thankful that I found a forever home, but I wish that my brothers and sisters could do the same. Please consider bringing on of them into your family. They will love you forever!

If you have trouble loading the on line application link please email for a copy and paste.
The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.

After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not meet he/she will be adopted to that home.

Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leo, a Salem Border Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
