Hi! I’m Benji! When I came into rescue, everyone thought I was going to be a Golden Retriever. Surprise!! Turns out that I am a Red Fox Lab. Red labs are a variation of the yellow Labs and quite handsome, if I do say so myself. After almost being bred out of the breed, we are becoming popular again. I’m young, only 21 months, and I am very high energy. I LOVE people! All ages and all sizes. I probably would not be good with very small children because of my exuberance, but I have lived with young children and I was a good boy. I love my people so much, I would like a home where someone is home most of the time. I need a big fenced yard where I can run. I really do like to run; I could probably be a great running partner if you like to run also. And I like to swim! I like to play with other dogs, but I am very strong, so I play rough. I am on a very low dose of Phenobarbital, because of an apparent seizure disorder. I had one seizure when I was younger, and have had none since I started the Pheno. If you have a firm but loving hand, have the time to work with me, and can give me lots of exercise, I could become your perfect companion. I am excited about meeting my new family. Is that you? If you are interested, please mention my name in your application.
Benji is a Courtesy Posting and is not an SGRR dog. If you would like more information about Benji, please contact
