My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a 3 1/2 year old spayed female Beagle mix. I weigh about 26 pounds. I'm a sweet, loving girl that really likes to play. I get along great with every person I meet. No one is a stranger to me! Before I came to CageFree, I spent my days and nights on the streets in Ensenada, Mexico. I used to sleep under this old beat up car and a very mean man would come by all the time and throw rocks at me. As hard as this is to believe, I belonged to someone. One day, a very nice woman, that takes in unwanted and stray dogs noticed, me under the car. She convinced my owners that spaying me was the right thing to do by telling them that my baby had been killed by a car. I don't know if that's true or if it was just a lie, but thankfully it worked. That's all I needed was more mouths to feed. It was hard enough finding food and water for myself. A few weeks went by, and although I was spayed now, my owners were still neglecting to care for. After seeing this, the nice lady begged them to allow her to have me. They said yes! She kept me safe and warm and contacted everybody she knew in the rescue business. That's what started my journey to LA. CageFree agreed to allow me into their rescue and I was quickly whisked off before my previous owners could ask for me back. It was a long drive to West LA from Ensenada, but I had a few friends to keep me company. When we got to our destination, I couldn't believe how nice everyone was. It seemed like they loved me already and they didn't even know me yet. I felt so special. Now that my past is behind me, I am looking forward to a very bright future with someone that will treat me like I am part of the family. There are a few things I am looking for in my next family. Most importantly, I want a family that will love me. I would also like someone that is active. Technically, I am considered an adult, but I'm still spunky as ever. I don't need constant exercise like a puppy, but a few good play sessions or a couple walks around the block would be great. I'm part Beagle so outdoor adventures sound really exciting. If you like to go on hikes in your free time, I am definitely the right dog for you! I don't think anyone has ever bothered to take me before and I can only imagine the amazing things there are for me to smell. Do you think I would make a good companion for you? Can you imagine sharing your life with me? If so, please don't hesitate to contact CageFree and tell them you would like to come meet me. I can't wait to see what the world has in store for me.
