Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I'm Beatrice - Bea for short - Bea for Bea-utiful! The first thing people notice about me is my unusual open-coat coloring (white with black patches), and then my topaz brown eyes rimmed with thick beagle eyeliner. I'm about four years old and 28 pounds with an athletic build. My people say my strong chest holds a big heart. I'm not a wild-and-crazy youngster, but I'm full of exuberance and really enjoy my people, my pack, and getting out for a brisk walk or run on a regular basis. I also love to cuddle and take long naps on the sofa.
I live in a house with other dogs and we all get along great. I love to play chase and tug with the youngest one, so a playmate who likes to be social would be great. (I also live with older dogs, and I am a respectful roommate who leaves them alone.) I would be fine as an only dog as long as you give me the love and attention any dog needs.
I'm all beagle - nose to the ground, patrolling for squirrels, other dog's food. Know what I mean?! I love people though I'm puzzled by their need for personal space. I believe in getting close, real close….. my head on your lap, my nose in your ear. I'm learning not to jump up, and I'm quite strong, so a home with younger, smaller children wouldn't be best. Older kids who respect and understand dogs would be just fine. I'm way too curious about cats - someone would have to have a calm cat and the patience to introduce me to him or her.
Did I tell you I'm crate trained? Yup. My mom says "crate" and I walk right in. She keeps it in the kitchen (not isolated in a back room) so I can see what's going on and still feel a part of things. I crate during the day and sleep out at night. I sleep all night long.
I'm spayed, have my shots, and am ready to go. Give me a call and we can meet. I'm so ready to be a permanent member of a family.
