Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Penny ooks like a tiny redbone coonhound, but doesn't have the howl or the size. At just 30 pounds full grown, she is just the right size for most families. Penny is likely mixed with beagle, dachshund, and redbone coonhound. She is just darling and gets along great with other dogs, even letting them eat out of her food bowl. The vet estimated her to be between 10-12 months old. She is very loving and enjoys the kids in her foster home. Penny is crate trained and doing great on housetraining. Polly does so well with other dogs, but she does chase the cats. She walks well on the leash and most of all loves to get petted. Penny in rescue with Happy Hound Rescue, a 501c3 all volunteer rescue. Penny's $350 adoption fee is to cover her full vetting including her spay, vaccines, heartworm test and preventive, flea/tick preventive, and she has a HomeAgain microchip.
