Jalapeno is a sweet and lovable girl who will steal your heart. She arrived so scared and nervous but has come out of her shell. She still takes things slowly but have no doubt that she will be your loyal and best friend. She was picked up stray by an Animal Control Officer and her family is no where to be found. Jalpeno is about 55 pounds, 2 years young, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartwoirm negative and microchipped. She is looking for true love and a second chance for a good life. Could you be the person to share her life?

We are a town municipal shelter dedicated to rescuing and adopting out animals picked up or brought to the shelter as strays, owner surrenders, and abandoned animals. We have a great group of employees and volunteers dedicated to the animals in our care!

Our Adoption Process...

Residents of Brookhaven are given first preference, but non-residents may also adopt and dogs or cats available at the Shelter. All dogs adopted (with adoption fee) receive a 4-in-1 vaccine, Bordetella, and Canine Influenza vaccine are spayed/neutered, microchipped, licensed, and given a rabies inoculation before leaving the Shelter. Adopters must leave a $40 bond for puppies and a $35 bond for kittens not old enough to be spayed/neutered at time of adoption.

2. Call the Animal Shelter at (631) 286-4940 to verify that the animal is there or if you have any questions.
3. Visit the Animal Shelter to see/adopt the animal.
