My story

Rusty's adoption fee is $350.

Rusty is a male 4 yr. old Dachshund that is neutered, micro chipped and up to date on vaccines. He weighs about 14 pounds and has a beautiful brindle coat. Rusty came from an environment where he hadn’t been well socialized and had been chastised, and as a result he is an insecure and fearful little guy. His reaction to many common situations (being picked up, name called etc.) is to cower and pee. Using a belly band is a must to help with his training, and wearing one allows him to spend time on the bed or furniture. He does love his walks, but will bark at strangers and show fear aggression when meeting strange dogs – we don’t know how he is with cats. Rusty also loves to ride in the car, play with the other dogs in his foster home and enjoys cuddling with his foster mom.

Rusty needs a calm home with a loving and patient owner who is willing to continue to work with his house training, insecurities and help him to continue to gain confidence. In return he will give you all of his love and devotion.
