DESCRIPTIONHi, my name is Black Beauty and I am a 10 month old solid Black Lab mix girl, and I weigh about 60 lbs. I am quite stunning with my beautiful shiny black coat, if I do say so myself. I used to belong to someone who thought that owning a dog meant leaving her on a 15 foot chain 24/7 with a collar on her neck so tight that it drew blood. Fortunately, a kind neighbor gave my former owner a piece of her mind and won my freedom. I am so grateful for my second chance at happiness and am trying to do everything right. I am house trained, however you may need to crate train me simply because I have just started learning my house manners and I may chew on things around the house while you are away. I walk easily on a leash although I zig-zag at the moment, full of wonder taking in all the sights around me. I am very bright and learn easily. I know sit, stay, shake hands, and shake other hand. After a long day, I am so content to rest on my bed at your feet while you read or watch TV. And when you tell me “goodnight”, I will get on my bed and stay there until morning. I dream about going for long walks in the woods and strolls or jogs in the neighborhood so I would love to be part of a family or be a companion for an active person or couple. If you are a runner I can run beside you at your pace. I love to play catch, chew on my toys and take rides in the car. I have been spayed, micro-chipped and I am up-to-date on all my shots.
