My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Pomeranian/Pekingese mix
Age: 3 years
Weight: 15 pounds
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Probably
Good with kids: Not Tested
Energy Level: Medium

Nugget was named because he is a little treasure. He has a beautiful fawn/white coat with a plume of a tail. You can't help but to notice his enthusiasm when you greet him because he is so gregarious and has a perma-grin across his face. He walks like a proud little man. Some may call it a Napoleon complex, but Nugget doesn't have a complex at all. He's just happy to be alive. He's the type of dog who knows his life was spared. Get ready for a cuddler... whether it's the couch, bed or even the floor. This little guy just wants to be loved.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
