Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Weight: 45 lbs

From Kinnick's foster family: Kinnick is a handsome Springer who is housetrained and has the run of the house. Kinnick's most distinguishing feature is his smile. We've never before had a Springer who carries such a big smile! He is also a very good watchdog with an intimidating bark that will let anyone know he means business. Kinnick will alert you when someone is in the yard or at the door. Once he has deemed someone safe, he will greet that person quickly with a smile and a wagging tail. And unlike some Springers, Kinnick still has a beautiful tail to wag!
This frisky guy loves to run, especially in open spaces, but this is not a problem because he has amazing recall and will race to your side whenever you call him. You won't have to search for him in the house, either, as he has a tendency to stay close to you wherever you go. Kinnick is a young Springer, so he shows some energy but also settles down well. He loves his toys and will carry them around, hoping that you may have a moment for a quick game of tug-o-war.
Kinnick walks well on a leash. He will pull a little until he knows the limits of the leash. He loves to retrieve, but he also knows when it is time to stop, and he will not pester you to continue. He loves to be touched and to cuddle with you on the couch if he is allowed to do so.
Although he would prefer to sleep with us, our resident dogs prefer that Kinnick sleep in a crate in our bedroom, which he does quietly. He is not delighted about going into the crate, but once he is inside, he behaves well and shows no signs of anxiety.
Kinnick gets along with our female resident dogs, but he does play some passive-aggressive games, blocking them from coming near us some times. He previously lived in a home with two other male Springers. Initially Kinnick wanted to be the alpha male, and he got into some disagreements with one of the other males here. Eventually, however, the dogs were able to work out their differences.
Kinnick got along fine with a cat he previously lived with, but he does not get along with our resident cat. He would probably do best in a home without other pets or small children, as he definitely wants to be the center of attention. In his exuberance, Kinnick will sometimes jump up on people, but he knows the command Down and does obey when he is told to do so.
This is truly an affectionate and fun-loving Springer who will make a wonderful companion for the right family. If you think that yours could be Kinnick's true Forever Home, please contact his case managers at the e-mail address below.
Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Kinnick.
