Rokkie weighs 35 short compact pounds once would never guess as he looks 25-30 pounds, he's about 3-4 years and super easy, gentle mellow great walking buddy that's his favorite thing to do walk
He LOVES LOVES LOVES to walk and explore out in nature he feels happiest and around water
Rokkie needs a dog experienced leader that is kind and patient he has a long story we want a happy ending for this boy
What we think would be ideal for Rokkie
single lady or guy that had plenty of dog experience
prefer country setting or quiet neighborhood ok
would like someone home most of the day
person must be competent and not pushy, down to earth dog whisperer someone that respects a dogs space and does not keep pushing the dog to be what they expect the dog to be
someone that knows that babysteps and reward works best in dogs
someone that is willing to do whatever it takes that includes the right training method
someone that knows that a dog that was in a pound for 3 months then moved around a few times will take 6 plus months to really settle in and eventually trust
someone that understands all dogs are work some more some less
someone that does not have tons of foot traffic over but a quiet settle easy home with a secure fenced yard
someone that's ready to take on a little challenge as this cute boy is a independent guy
Rokkie does not like to be pushed around nor man handled he does not like weak people in a sense but respects a good leader a good leader is calm and patient
This lucky guy survived the shelter for 3 months so he must of been real good for them not to kill, he not once had any problems there in 3 months
He does great with other mellow dogs even tolerated some crazy wild pups
we are looking for dog experienced folks, home during the day that are down to earth
We are looking only for a quiet adult home, active enough to go for daily walks
If you give him the time he needs with guidance and training he will become a loyal trusting best friend
for a shelter dog to settle bond and trust it can take 6-12 months
Rokkie is of gentle nature, at the shelter they could easily check his teeth, he's a quiet kind boy that now has a second change in life for a much better home someone looking for a sweet sidekick
be prepared for a 6-12 month period for him to be fully settled in as most rescue dogs need that time
don't expect but be happy for everything attitude
Rokkie is a quiet dog not asking for much he needs a person that is similar not asking for much and not pushy not expecting totally down to earth type person
We think a good leader woman may be a best match but the right guy ok too he seems fine with either
he's house trained to dog door
he does like being outdoors more then in right now but over time once he trusts and bonds that may change so having a dog door he can be outside day or night if he prefers with doghouse and bed until he decides he wants to be indoors more
If any kids we think in a dog experienced home a nice child over 12 years would be great as he loves to play when out in yard and most likely lived with older kids before but prefer adult home
he has been around a nice 13 year old and enjoyed it
Rokkie is a super boy has not given us any problems however we are relaxed and do not push our dogs to be someone they are not but respect them and lead them to be their very best
he is not a kids dog prefer adult home someone relaxed
