My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Callie was saved by some kind volunteers from the Pakuashipi reservation in Northern Quebec prior to the scheduled dog culling. She was very lucky to make it out before the cull of strays began.

It is obvious that poor little Callie (and little is right she is short and only 32lbs) had a rough life! Other than eating treats she seems to have very little joy these days, we are hoping that in foster care she will learn to trust humans again and give us a second chance! We have discovered that she really likes treats and with that you can pretty much get Callie to do anything you want! I guess being starved and alone for so long readily available treats is like a child having chocolate for the first time! We are so very happy to supply with all the treats she wants

In foster care she lives with two other dogs and cats. She pays no mind to them and quietly keeps to herself waiting for some human attention and treats!

Callie is clean in the home and in the car. She is just a quiet little girl that needs a family to spoil her and help her come out of her shell and understand how beautiful life can be with people who love, care and will protect you

The key for any family who will want to meet Callie for potential adoption is to be aware of her shyness and not to be taken aback by it thinking she does not like you. A patient and loving family will understand that bonds with special dogs like Callie take time to develop and if there was ever a dog that deserved to be showered with love and to be pampered with a soft doggie bed and a full belly each night it is Callie.

Callie’s size is like a permapuppy she is short and she is only 32 lbs.

Because of Callie’s shyness coming from a remote Northern Indian Reserve this new world is a little overwhelming for her so we are looking for a home out of the city where Callie can have her backyard to play in until she gets a little more used to life

If you are kind, patient, loving and gentle please email CAARescue@gmail.com to ask us for an application for adoption and once completed we can make arrangements for you to meet her.
