Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please meet Snickers, a beautiful, active, affectionate 3 year old, 14 pound red smooth female. Got hiking trails? Snicker's motto is "Just do it and take me too!" Snickers loves to play. One of her favorite pastimes is playing chase so it would be great to have her go to a home that has another small dog as enthusiastic about the chase game as she is. She is a dachshund true to her genetics in the sense of her prey drive. Whenever Snickers sees a squirrel the Sherlock Holmes phrase, "the game's afoot" comes to mind as she will sit patiently and quietly for as long as necessary (meaning until she is called) staring down and anticipating her prey. Second hand information says she chases cats and that is probably true.
She has been good with the dachshunds in her foster home, but, she is not always willing to share her toys. Snickers can be described as exuberant, enthusiastic, happy, playful, obedient, very vocal as she waits to be fed, bomb-proof with her house training. Walks great on leash until she sees a rabbit so a tight grip on her leash is absolutely necessary, loves to go for car rides, can be a little pushy at times when she is seeking human attention, she likes to "steal" gentle licks on your toes, she takes her treats nicely, goes to bed in her crate without complaint but is always happy to be allowed to sleep near the human.
Snickers ideal Colorado home will have a fenced yard, another small active dog to play with, a human that loves taking their dogs for walks, easy runs and hikes and who thinks spending time with their pets is important. No cats, no young children.
To meet Snickers please fill out our adoption application at www.c2cdr.org. Snickers adoption fee is $250.00, her devotion is endless.
