Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This handsome dude is Mac. He was given up to an animal shelter in Jeffersonville, Ind. when his owner was deployed and had nobody to take care of him. The man had tears streaming down his face when he dropped Mac off and it looks like he had taken very good care of him. Mac was scheduled to be euthanized. Owner give-ups are the first to go when the shelters are full. CDR didn't think Mac deserved a death sentence when his owner was off serving our country, so we brought him in. We had hoped that we could keep Mac while his owner was deployed and then return him, but too many roadblocks prevented that from happening. So, now we are looking for a nice home for Mac.
He is a shepherd mix, about 3 years old and 67 pounds. He could stand to put on about 5 pounds. He is a very nice dog. He gets along with other dogs and is interested in, but doesn't chase the cats in his foster home. He is housebroken and knows basic commands. He likes to play and will make someone a great companion. Come meet him at our adoption event Saturday.
