My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET FRITZ - Z

If you’re looking for love, friendship, faith, trust, fun and loyalty and are willing to give those things in return, we have the Dachshund for YOU! Meet FRITZ-Z, a three year old, red, smooth hair dachshund. While he was born with a hip abnormality and looks bull-legged, FRITZ-Z is in great health. He is 15 lbs, neutered, house-trained, has good teeth and is fully up to date on all of his shots and veterinary needs. FRITZ-Z is loving, smart and loves to go for rides (on a scooter)! He has never been around cats or small children, but he does love to play with other Dachshunds. If you have an open, doxie loving heart and are able to be home with him most of the time, FRITZ-Z will give you entertainment, joy, cuddles and devotion right from the start.

NOTE FROM ODR, INC:
FRITZ-Z has been well loved by his family. Unfortunately, they are now moving to an assisted living facility and cannot keep him. He is a sweet, loving Dachshund who is experiencing grief and loss. As a result, he is a bit anxious right now and tends to bark a bit more. He will need and extra amount of love, attention and some positive reinforcement of his housetraining. Please let us know when you’d like to meet him – we’d love to introduce him to you.

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give FRITZ-Z a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
