Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DOB August 11, 2006.
Fall in LOVE today and open your heart to Sophie! She's a dainty black beauty, quiet, demure, and super sweet. And on occasion, her independence will bring out her inner diva!
Sophie is sadly being surrendered by her owner after much heartache and with tearful regret. The decision to re-home her has been a very difficult one to come to terms with. Unfortunately, what Sophie really needs right now is another loving home where she will be an only cat and can reign supreme. She will be happiest in a quiet home where there will be no other fur brothers or sisters to contend with, and where she will be spoiled exclusively by your love and affection.
Sophie is a picture of health and has lived in the same secure and stable home since kittenhood. She is shy in nature and understandably will require extra reassurance and patience from her new family while she adjusts to such a major change in her life and to a new environment. Your reward will be a loving companion who, of course, will expect you to shower her with lots of love and affection and in return will always be ready to do the same. In appreciation, she'll affectionately bow her head to yours for head butts and forehead kisses and you'll hear the soft purr of contentment that will just melt your heart.
Being a bit of a diva, Sophie thoroughly enjoys when you pamper her. She loves to have her soft silky coat brushed and will flop down and stretch right out so she can be groomed from head to tail, rolling over on her back and exposing her belly and the little white wisp of hair on her underside. She'll want you to brush that too! And she never refuses a good chin and neck scratching.
Sophie also loves to cuddle and to relax on any comfy spot that she can find. Whether she's curled up beside you in bed, draped over you sitting on the couch, sprawled out on a sunny spot on the floor, or perched high in a cat tree, it makes no difference as long as you're near by. She's very happy to hang out and to be close to you.
She also loves to be rewarded with catnip and yummy cat treats. Sophie's energetic and playful side comes out and she's keen for fun and activity. She'll leap through the air for her favourite toys, fluffy balls, ponytail elastic bands and especially for a certain mouse on a string that she absolutely adores. She will be as active and as entertaining as you will allow her to be.
NOW the big question remains, are you willing to be SOPHIE'S HERO and to give her a chance to show you that love and affection? Sophie's present owner wants to stress that she is very concerned about her well-being and is willing to offer any kind of assistance to Sophie's new adoptive family to help make the transition as positive as possible for her (TCR promises the same!).
In lieu of our standard adoption fee, a donation of your choice is appreciated - thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family!
