Happy to be alive. That's Watson. He knows how close he was to being put to sleep. He's an interesting little guy. So interesting that we really didn't know what to put down for a breed. He's what we call a "Heinz 57". He's full grown and a perfect size if you want a dog bigger than a small breed but smaller than a large breed. He has a sweet personality and enjoys one-on-one time with a human when he has the opportunity... which isn't so often. He gets so happy to see you that he will wag his tail so hard that his bum wiggles back and forth. If you are looking for that pup to sit next to you on the couch or even cuddle in bed, Watson is your dog. He is a love bug! His golden brown features accent his face nicely which is full of expression. You can tell how happy he is in his eyes. He can be fresh with other dogs sometimes, so introducing him to another dog should be done slowly. He would benefit from training.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
