Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Come Meet Me! I'll be at Jake's Place at 1621 Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne on Saturday, September 13th from 10am - 1pm**
Little Pete was dropped off by his "owners" at a store. They went in, asked the staff to hold him, and never returned. Lucky for Pete, one of our volunteers just happened to work there. We think it was fate that brought Pete to us and we know that he will find a loving forever home now.
Pete is just about 6 months old now. He enjoys the company of other dogs and likes to play. He loves all the people he meets, there is no such thing as a stranger in Pete's world! Typical of his breed, Pete is also a snuggler so his forever family must be up for lots of kisses and cuddling...but watch out! He loves to snore too. Pete is crate trained and is fine being in his crate at night to sleep and when his foster family is at work. Pete walks well on a leash with his harness but gets excited when he sees another dog. Pete will sit for treats and for his food and is just a happy pup. Pete loves to go for car rides and typically curls up in a ball to nap. He know's "sit" and is learning other basic commands.
Pete's temporary foster family set up a Facebook page for him. Check him out at https://www.facebook.com/adoptpete
Your first step for adoption is to complete our adoption application at www.apathwaytohope.org. We will then screen your application through a vet reference check, phone interview (this is when you can ask all of your questions over the phone), reference checks (2) and a home visit. Our adoption donation is $300 and includes spay/neuter, microchipping, vaccines and preventatives up to date per the dog's age, health check, fecal / deworming as needed and heartworm testing and treatment as needed. More details will be provided if you are being considered for adoption.
