Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Mac a handsome black tri male Aussie mix with a tail who just turned a year old. Mac is a lovable, happy boy that hasn't met a person or dog he didn't want to be friends with. Mac loves to play and would fetch all day if your arm lasted that long. He is still very much a puppy and has boundless puppy energy. Mac's good nature even extends to dogs that growl at him and try to take the alpha role. He will always submit and never stops wagging his tail. He is very good with little dogs but he plays too rough with cats so a home that is cat free would be best. He definitely knows how to bark to communicate but his foster mom has never heard him growl, even when his little doxie foster sister takes his toys right out of his mouth. He is such a sweetheart. This boy is a lover.
Mac has had very little training and would greatly benifit from formal obedience training. His foster mom is working on basic commands and house manners and he is learning very quickly. With positive reinforcement and great treats we are all learning just how smart he is. He is fully potty trained and has had no accidents in his foster home. He is crate trained and walks well on a leash. He gets so excited to meet people he sometimes forgets his manners and jumps up when someone approaches that looks like a great play mate.
Mac is a big boy weighing in at about 70 lbs with a long graceful body that may have some setter/retriever mixed in. Mac stands 26 inches tall.
Mac needs a forever home with an attentive, active family and a fenced yard is a must. He would do well with an older confident dog in the house who he could continue to learn from and show him the ropes. Because of Mac's size and energy level his forever home will have no children under 10.
Mac is neutered, current on vaccinations and micro chipped. He is currently on heartworm and flea preventative. Mac is being fostered in Northern IL.
