Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Good Samaritan found this little peanut wandering the streets on her own, sniffling and sneezing. We also noticed the pads on her paws were swollen and raw so off to the vets we went! She was diagnosed with Plasma Cell Pododermatitis or "Pillow Feet". Her sniffling persisted and further blood tests revealed that Shoshi (her nickname) is FIV+ and Heartworm +
Shoshanna flourished in her foster home and was starting to feel better, the swelling on her little paws had gone down and she only had one little abrasion on her foot-pad, and no more sniffling at all! Then she developed a cough that made us a little worried- so back to the vet we went. Shoshi was diagnosed with asthma on top of everything else, but she doesn't let it hold her back! She is still an active, playful little girl who enjoys playing in boxes, snuggling up for some cuddles and exploring!
Shoshanna is feeling better and ready for a new family who understands she'll need to stay indoors to keep healthy! Cats with FIV can lead long, healthy lives with twice annual check ups and Shoshi will need a monthly heartworm pill. We just know there is someone out there who can give her the 2nd chance she needs! If you're interested in meeting Shoshanna, please contact us to set up a time for her foster home to bring her to the shelter for a meet n greet, info@lowellhumanesociety.org OR call 978-888-4770.
