Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Buttons was turned into the Lancaster shelter Monday 7/7 because of an assumed hip dislocation suffered when she freaked out during July 4 fireworks. We pulled her out that same afternoon, and found that she did NOT have such an injury. In fact, she's mobile -- goes up and down steps, and walks well on a leash.
All she needs now is a recheck of her blood test to confirm that her liver enzyme number from July 8 is back in normal range. We'll know that around July 23, when we get her retested. Meanwhile she's doing very well with her fosterer, who has an older smooth collie male of her own.
Though perfect as an only dog, Buttons will also do fine with another, reasonably quiet dog. She IS an attention hog! She'll vie for pets, maybe get very pushy with another dog, but is fine if both she and the other dog are being petted. She has no getting-along problems when there's no attention-giving person right there.
You can also see Buttons on Facebook ("before" pictures + two short videos), on our Southland Collie Rescue group page. Take a look, then give me a call if you'd like to know more. This girl will make someone an affectionate, happy companion. Yes, she gives kisses!
