Sox's Story...
People don’t really give socks a second thought. You put them on to insulate your feet, you take them off if it gets too hot. Does anyone ever think about the protective nature of socks? How they are your little shields against the elements and roughness of the insides of shoes. Socks are like the unsung heroes of the human foot world. This Sox wants to be your hero, too, but not a hero of your feet— the hero of your heart! I want to protect you from loneliness, insulate your love, and repel any attempts at heartache. I devoted a large part of my life to loving someone, and even though they are no longer with me that doesn’t mean my job is done. I can take my years of learning and make someone else happy and full of love. Respectful kids 7+ would love to be my buddies, other dogs love to have me around, I love cats, I am house trained and crate trained, and I have learned to observe the world with patience and understanding. I know there is more purpose out there for me to fulfill, and a family that needs a little more loving insulation. 12 years old-50lbs. My adoption fee is $80 and includes: spay, microchip, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam,1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sox, a Portland Chow Chow/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow/Border Collie for sale in Portland, or seeking a Chow Chow/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow/Border Collie breeders who help with Chow Chow/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
