My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Luna, but sometimes people call me Kisses or Cuddle Muffin. I do not mind the nicknames. I am a female Pit Bull mix. Based on how my teeth look, I am probably not much more than 1 year old.

My first year was ruff!! I was severely neglected; I was never spayed, and ended up pregnant. You try being a single mother at 1 year old! It is hard out there for a Pit! In July I was found quivering on the side of the road in Boyle Heights. My puppies were nowhere to be found, and were probably sold by the one who had neglected and abandoned me.

Luckily, I am a very sturdy girl!! I was not injured and when strangers stopped to help me I gladly climbed in their car. I love car rides!!! The nice people gave me a bath, some food, and loads of love. Then they put me on a leash (I have never had one of those before), and I even got to feel grass which was nice because my paws were sore from walking on concrete. Best of all, I could flop over and get belly rubs any time I wanted!! I have these people totally whipped!

I am very gentle, I have a calm and sweet disposition, I do not bark much, and I am a little bit timid around new people and situations. I like other dogs, and I am genuinely confused by cats. Now that I know what a sofa is I want to sleep on it ALL DAY LONG! It is ok to leave me inside because I am house broken. But I do need help learning some new tricks.

I have a lot of love to give – all I need in return is a safe and loving forever home so I never have to be on the side of the road ever again.
