Nila's Story...
Hello there, my name is Nila and I am very sweet 2 year old girl! I am a little nervous at first meet but once I get to know you I am the sweetest girl. I get along with dogs and people alike. I can get a little to rough with cats, so a house with out cats is preferable. I enjoy playing with all kinds of toys, and enjoy everything life has to offer. From a nice nap on the couch to a nice long walk around the neighborhood. So please, if you want to meet me (and I want to meet you) come on down and visit me! Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold, we appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information please PHONE the shelter (978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk) instead of sending emails.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nila, a Gloucester Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Boxer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
