My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

12-13-14 My name is Ginger and I am ?? yrs. old. I weigh in at a whopping 5.1 Lbs. I

live in the Holy City. (Charleston SC) I would love to vent a little frustration. That little

spoiled brat Chip is getting all the attention. When he wines (and that is all the time he is

not being held) Foster mom comes running. Let’s not talk about him.

I am doing much better accept I still need someone to give me a good home and take

me out of this Yorkie zoo. They are everywhere. They sneak up behind me and scare

me to death. They all think it’s funny. I can tell you I am the best of all of them, from

what I can remember, I getting old you know. I am very quiet accept for dinner time, I

love everybody and am just the best. It will only take me a couple of weeks to figure out

your house. I lead with my head and when it hits something I stop and put that in my

memory so I don’t hit it again. When I came to foster mom’s house it took me just a

short time know where I was and get around from room to room. One of the first things

you do is find your food dish and then map everything from there. Remember they tried

to starve me at my earlier home so have that food dish as my point of reference and top

priority.

UPDATE 10-30-14: My name is Ginger and I am about 12 years old. I weigh in at a whopping 5.1 Lbs. I live in the Holy City. (Charleston SC) As you know I am totally blind and I don’t hear so well. I have no problems hearing foster mom fixing my dinner and I bark to let her know I am standing right below her. I have been having problems with my right eye for quite a few weeks. Dr. Cook has been trying to get the infection cured and the pressure down with drops. The infection went away but the pressure in my eye was really high and it hurt. Today I went to see Dr. Cook again. (She is such a nice Lady). When I wasn’t looking some body gave me a shot and I was cutting ZZZZZ right now. When I woke up I heard Dr. Cook telling Foster Dad that everything went fine, that the shot they gave me in my eye will lower the pressure and I should be fine. What is this shot in my eye thing? I sure am happy I was sleeping, that sounds awful.

Tonight I am feeling better and my eye doesn’t hurt and I got a good meal. I am back playing with all the other dogs in the house and all is back to normal. I promise I will not wait so long to talk to Y’all but it has been a bad couple of months. If there is anyone out there that is looking for a sweet old lady to keep them company, Just whistle and I will come running.

Update Bio 07/13/14: My name is Ginger and I am ?? old. I now weigh in at a whopping 4.9 Lbs. I want you to know that that is quite an accomplishment as I weighed 2.9 Lbs. when I got to my foster home. I am jumping ahead a little so let me start from the beginning.

I didn’t write sooner because I felt so bad and didn’t look to good. I was rescued from a kill shelter in NC. My mom of many years had gotten very sick and was not taking care of me. Her family brought me to the shelter because they knew I would die if I stayed at home. I was not being fed because mom wasn’t thinking straight and she would forget to feed me. I can’t see because of cataracts or hear. I only have but one tooth so they can’t tell how old I am. I had lost most of my hair and could hardly stand. It was a very scary time for me.

Well after 8 of the 10 days I had left in the shelter my foster parents came from SC to rescue me. I was so upset I would not let anyone hold me but I would sometimes let them pet me before I would move away. I had such a head ache from bouncing off the walls learning my way around my new home. I did discover my bed and now that is my favorite spot. They feed me twice a day and give me almost anything I want. Foster Mom says I am a pig and will eat anything she puts down or anything I can steel from my 4 brothers and sisters. I am up to almost 5 lbs., I feel great, my hair is coming back and I get around the house much better but will only let mom hold me for a short while. It’s hard to trust people when you have had such a tough time in the past.

Well I have been vetted completely and had my one tooth polished (joke). Now all I need is a new home to be loved and live out the rest of my life. Please contact my Foster Mom for more information on how you can be the lucky one to adopt me.
