My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Allie.

I am a parti Schnauzer. Aren’t I pretty? I am about 6-8 years old, don’t know for sure. You see, I spent all my life living in a cage in a puppy mill and having many babies.

I was rescued from that bad place by a good dog warden and came to Schnauzer Rescue Cincinnati. My life is changing and I can hardly believe it. I got groomed (clean!) and a good vet spayed me (no more puppies!), cleaned and pulled some teeth, and got me UTD on shots.

I live in a foster home with other 4 rescue dogs and fosters and I get along well with them. I have a soft bed, good food, and a yard to run loose in – things I have never known before. And TREATS! I can’t believe how good treats are. Especially CHEESE! My eyes popped out the first time I tried cheese!

I am still timid and sometimes scared but I am learning what love is. I cower when approached but don’t run away anymore. I really like it when someone pets or rubs on me and I will sit on a lap sometimes. My foster Mom is amazed that I don’t potty in the house but wait to go outside. I am learning about steps to go outside. I do better if given time to do it on my own.

I am looking for a quiet home with lots of patience to help me keep learning. Older kids who understand me would be best. I will need a fenced yard as I don’t understand leashes. Are you my family? Will you help me learn about freedom and love? My fee is $250.
