My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Allie is a 1-2 year old schnauzer/schipperke mix. She is about 30lbs. She is very sweet, not a mean bone in her body. She goes to Dog Gone Smart every day and plays well with all the dogs there. She is submissive, playful, she will seek out a squeaky toy and play by herself if no one will play with her. She likes a chewy bone. She is not food aggressive at all - you can hand feed her! You can feed her treats with all the other dogs and she patiently waits her turn, she never grabs the food out of their mouths or starts an argument. She is fully house trained and will look for the door if she has to go. She spent 7 hours alone one day with the other dogs, and did absolutely nothing (spied on her from the remote camera) other than lay on the couch - no chewing, no potty - perfect. She gets along with children and cats. She loves to be petted. She goes to bed early - sleeps in a soft crate through the night without a peep. She will alert you to a stranger at the door, but once you tell her it is ok, she will give them love. Not a bad thing to say other than she needs a consistent leash walk - we have a fenced yard, so she is rarely on the leash, so she needs to learn that, but she is SMART, so it won't be a problem, and she is food motivated - a perfect combination. She rides very well in the car - she sits in the back seat and does not ask to come to the front - she likes to look out the window or lay down - never barks at people or other dogs. She has a summer cut which we think she looks better shaggy, and are waiting for it to grow back for the winter!
