Abby's Story...
Abby is a 9 month old brown brindle/white Pit mix female who only weighs about 35 lbs. She has been staying in a foster home for about three weeks and gets along great with the cats she is living with. Abby loves going on walks and jogs and behaves wonderfully on a leash. She loves to chase tennis balls in the backyard and can run fast as lightening. She is potty trained and has not had a single accident in the house, even when she is crated over night or during the work day. Abby knows several commands including sit, lay down, come, no, ball, and bye-bye (as in, “want to go bye-bye on a walk?”). She is an affectionate well mannered dog with cute little brown spotted ears that flop up when she is excited. Abby is one sweet little girl who just so happens to be the cutest little wiggle-butt when she's happy!

Will adopt only in the Kansas City metro area.

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Andi / Jon at 816-442-7483 or shaberdu@msn.com so you can find out how to meet ABBY!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby, a Overland Park Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
